Looking for Noah’s Ark snacks for Sunday School that are actually FUN for kids while still keeping the focus on God’s Word?
You are in the right place. 🌈🦒❤️
Because apparently there is something about putting animal crackers, rainbows and snacks on a table that suddenly makes an entire room of kids VERY interested in Noah. 😂
But that is exactly why I love using Bible snacks with kids.
The food gets their attention.
The activity helps them remember.
And then we get to point all of it back to the part that really matters… GOD.

I’ve been creating an entire collection of Noah’s Ark Sunday School snack ideas here at Only JESUS Story, so I wanted to put them all in ONE easy place for Sunday School teachers, Christian parents, homeschool families, VBS leaders and children’s ministry volunteers.
From animals going two by two to rainbows reminding us of God’s promise, these easy Noah’s Ark snack ideas can help little hearts remember one BIG truth:
God is faithful, and we can trust Him. ❤️
Easy Noah’s Ark Snack Ideas for Kids
You do not need a Pinterest-perfect classroom or seventeen hours of prep to make a Bible lesson memorable.
Praise Jesus for that. 😂🙌🏻
These Noah’s Ark snacks are intentionally simple, colorful and kid-friendly.
Use one with your Noah lesson, or turn several of them into an entire Noah’s Ark Sunday School snack day.
Here are my favorites.
1. Noah’s Ark Rainbow Snack Board
🌈 Make the Noah’s Ark Rainbow Snack Board
A rainbow is probably one of the first things kids recognize from the story of Noah, which makes a colorful rainbow snack board such a fun way to talk about God keeping His promises.
Arrange colorful foods in rainbow order and let the kids see how all those bright colors point back to something much bigger than snack time.
After the flood, God placed the rainbow in the sky as a sign of His covenant.
That gives you an easy opportunity to ask:
“What does the rainbow remind us about God?”
And bring the conversation right back to His faithfulness.
Bible Lesson Connection
Read Genesis 9:12–16 with your kids and talk about God’s covenant with Noah.
The rainbow isn’t just something pretty we see after a storm.
It can remind us that God keeps His promises.
2. Two by Two Noah’s Ark Bible Snack
🦒🦒 Make the Two by Two Bible Snack
Two giraffes.
Two elephants.
Two lions.
And approximately 47 children asking if they can have another animal cracker. 😂
This Two by Two Bible Snack is an adorable hands-on way to reinforce the part of Noah’s story kids LOVE — the animals entering the ark.
Have children match their animal crackers into pairs before eating them.
Suddenly snack time becomes a mini Bible activity too.
Bible Lesson Connection
Read Genesis 7:8–9 and talk about the animals entering the ark.
Ask kids to find matching pairs and say:
“Two by two!”
Then remind them that God had a plan, gave Noah instructions and Noah obeyed Him.
3. Noah’s Ark Animal Crackers Snack
🐘🦁 Make the Noah’s Ark Animal Crackers Snack
If you need something ridiculously easy for Sunday School, animal crackers are basically Noah’s Ark snack GOLD.
No elaborate baking.
No complicated recipe.
No attempting to make a giraffe out of frosting at 11:47 PM Saturday night. 😂
This simple Noah’s Ark animal crackers snack gives kids something familiar and fun while helping you reinforce the animals, the ark and Noah’s obedience to God.
You can serve the animal crackers in small cups, snack bags or as part of a larger Noah-themed snack setup.
Make It Interactive
Before anyone eats their animals, ask children to:
- Find two matching animals.
- Name an animal they think might have been on the ark.
- Make their funniest animal sound.
- Tell you who told Noah to build the ark.
- Name one thing Noah did that showed he trusted God.
Then…
EAT THE ZOO. 😂
4. Noah’s Ark Rescue Snack
🚢 Make the Noah’s Ark Rescue Snack
This one turns snack time into a little rescue mission.
Instead of simply handing kids animal crackers, let them participate in a Noah-inspired animal rescue activity as you retell the story.
Kids can move or “rescue” the animals and bring them safely toward the ark before enjoying their snack.
It’s playful.
It’s hands-on.
And underneath all the fun is a much more important lesson.
Noah trusted God enough to obey Him.
The BIG Truth Behind the Rescue
The animals make this activity fun.
The rescue mission makes it memorable.
But the heart of the story is Noah’s faith and obedience.
God gave Noah instructions.
Noah followed them.
And God was faithful.
That gives us such a beautiful opportunity to teach children that even when we don’t understand everything God is doing, we can trust Him.
5. Noah’s Ark Sunday School Snack Kit
🌈🦓 Make the Noah’s Ark Sunday School Snack Kit
Need something you can prepare ahead of time?
This Noah’s Ark Sunday School snack kit is perfect for putting the lesson into an easy individual serving for kids.
Pair it with the rainbow snack board, use it during your Noah Bible lesson or send it home so children can tell their families what they learned.
I especially love take-home Bible snacks because the lesson doesn’t necessarily stop when Sunday School ends.
A child brings the snack home.
Mom or Dad asks what it is.
And suddenly that little bag of food has opened the door to another conversation about GOD.
That is a pretty amazing job for a snack. ❤️
Turn Your Noah’s Ark Snacks Into a Complete Sunday School Lesson
You don’t have to stop with snack time.
Pair one of these ideas with my Noah’s Ark Sunday School Activity to create an easy lesson kids can participate in from beginning to end.
A simple Noah lesson could look something like this:
READ: Tell the story of Noah from Genesis 6–9.
TALK: Discuss Noah’s trust and obedience.
PLAY: Complete a Noah’s Ark activity.
SNACK: Choose one of the Noah snack ideas from this roundup.
REMEMBER: Finish by asking the children what the story teaches us about God.
You don’t need to make the lesson complicated.
Sometimes the simplest activities create the conversations kids remember most.
What Does the Story of Noah Teach Kids?
There are SO many exciting parts of Noah’s story.
A gigantic ark.
Animals.
Rain.
A dove.
A rainbow.
But I don’t want kids leaving Sunday School only remembering that Noah had a really enormous boat filled with animals.
I want them remembering WHO was behind the story.
God.
The Noah account gives us opportunities to talk about:
Obedience
Noah followed God’s instructions even when what God asked him to do required tremendous faith.
Trust
Noah trusted what God told him.
God’s Faithfulness
God remained faithful to Noah and his family.
God’s Promises
The rainbow became the sign of God’s covenant after the flood.
Those truths are so much bigger than any craft, activity or snack we could create.
The snack simply helps us start the conversation.
Noah’s Ark Snack Ideas for Different Ages
One of the best parts about these Noah’s Ark food activities is that you can easily adjust them for different ages.
Toddlers and Preschoolers
Keep everything visual and simple.
Let them match animals two by two, identify colors in the rainbow and repeat short phrases such as:
“God keeps His promises!”
Elementary Kids
Ask more questions while they work.
Why did Noah build the ark?
How did Noah show obedience?
What did the rainbow mean?
How can we trust God today?
Older Kids
Go deeper into Genesis and discuss faith, obedience, God’s covenant and what Noah’s response teaches us about following God.
The snack might look simple.
The conversation doesn’t have to be.
Noah’s Ark Snack Table Idea
If you’re teaching Noah for VBS, children’s church or a special Sunday School lesson, you could combine several of these ideas into one big Noah’s Ark snack table.
Include:
- Rainbow-colored fruit
- Animal crackers
- Animals arranged two by two
- Individual Noah snack kits
- Blue napkins or tablecloths for “water”
- A simple ark decoration
- Rainbow decorations
- Your Bible opened to Genesis
Keep the decorations playful, but let God’s Word remain the centerpiece.
That’s the part I never want us to lose.
Add a Noah’s Ark Game
If your group has extra time — or extra ENERGY 😂 — you could also pair the snacks with a Noah-themed movement game.
I have a collection of VBS games on Get Your Holiday On that includes a Noah’s Ark Relay.
Kids work in teams to transport their “animals” while you connect the activity back to Noah gathering the animals and following God’s instructions.
This is especially useful if you’re planning a longer VBS lesson or church event and need something active between Bible teaching and snack time.

Which Noah’s Ark Snack Should You Make First?
If you’re teaching Noah soon and aren’t sure which one to choose, here’s my suggestion:
For the easiest option, start with the animal crackers.
For something colorful and Pinterest-worthy, make the rainbow snack board.
For something interactive, choose the Two by Two snack or Rescue Snack.
For something easy to prep and distribute, make the Sunday School snack kits.
Or…
Make ALL OF THEM and declare it Noah Week. 😂🌈🦒🚢
I support this decision.
The Most Important Part of Every Noah’s Ark Activity
I love creating fun Bible snacks.
I love seeing kids get excited.
And if putting two animal crackers beside each other helps a child remember something from God’s Word, I am ALL FOR IT.
But the cutest rainbow board isn’t the point.
The animal crackers aren’t the point.
The ark isn’t even the ultimate point.
God is.
So while you’re matching elephants, arranging rainbow fruit or rescuing cracker giraffes, keep bringing those little conversations back to Him.
God is faithful.
God keeps His promises.
God is worthy of our trust.
And God’s Word is something worth getting excited about. ❤️🙌🏻
That is what I hope our kids carry with them long after…
the animal crackers are gone. 😂❤️
