Can we all agree on one thing?
Waiting is… not exactly my favorite.
I don’t even like waiting for my coffee to cool down. I either burn my tongue because I couldn’t wait… or forget about it completely and end up reheating it three times.
There’s no in-between.
And don’t even get me started on package tracking.
I know checking it every fifteen minutes isn’t going to make it arrive faster…
…but somehow my brain still thinks, “Maybe this time it’ll say ‘Out for delivery!'”
Then there are those text messages that simply say, “Can I call you later?”
Excuse me… later as in ten minutes?
Or later as in now I’m accidentally imagining 47 different reasons you need to call me?
The truth is, I think most of us struggle with waiting.
Waiting for prayers to be answered.
Waiting for healing.
Waiting for the next chapter.
Waiting to know what God is doing when everything feels quiet.
Here’s what I’m learning…
God has never asked me to understand His timing.
He’s simply asked me to trust Him.
Some days that’s easy.
Other days… I’m refreshing my inbox, checking the tracking number again, and wondering if God accidentally skipped my prayer request.
(Spoiler alert: He didn’t.)

Why Patience Matters and What the Bible Teaches About Waiting
The Bible doesn’t tell us to be patient because waiting is easy.
It encourages patience because God is faithful.
Waiting isn’t about sitting around doing nothing. It’s about trusting that God is working behind the scenes, even when life feels quiet or uncertain.
Over and over throughout Scripture, we see that God’s timing is perfect. He keeps His promises, strengthens our faith, and often uses the waiting to prepare us for what’s ahead.
These verses are a reminder that while we may not love waiting, we can always trust the One we’re waiting on.

I still get impatient.
I’ll probably still sigh dramatically in traffic tomorrow.
I’ll probably still check the microwave with ten seconds left.

I’ll probably still ask God, “Are we there yet?”
Thankfully…
God isn’t grading us on perfect patience.
He’s growing it in us one day at a time.

Jesus,
Thank You for loving me, even on the days when waiting feels impossible. You know my heart, my worries, and all the times I want answers right now. Help me remember that even when I can’t see what You’re doing, You’re still working behind the scenes.
When I start getting frustrated, remind me to trust You instead of my own timeline. Give me peace while I wait, joy in the middle of the unknown, and faith to believe that Your plans are always better than anything I could rush.
Thank You for never giving up on me and for always showing up right on time. Help me keep my eyes on You, one day at a time.
