If you’ve ever prayed for patience…
First of all…
You’re brave.

Second…
You probably regretted it about five minutes later.
Because isn’t it funny how praying for patience somehow results in everyone around you suddenly forgetting how to act?
I don’t know if God sends extra opportunities…
Or if my children simply have incredible timing.
Either way…
The moment I whisper,
“Lord… please help me be patient.”
Someone immediately yells…
“Mommmmmmm!”
Then another child joins in.
The dog starts barking.
Someone can’t find their shoes.
Someone else needs a snack.
The toddler has somehow removed their diaper.
And the coffee I just reheated for the fourth time?
Cold again.
Welcome to motherhood.
My Kids Are Tiny Personal Trainers…
…for my faith.
Forget going to the gym.
God gave me children. I have three bigs and two littles.
Every day they stretch my patience…
Strengthen my prayer life…
Improve my problem-solving skills…
And remind me exactly how much I need Jesus.
Sometimes before breakfast.
Christian Mom Confession
There have been days I’ve prayed…
“Lord, help me love like You.”
Then five minutes later…
I hear…
“Mom… he’s touching me.”
“No I’m not!”
“YES YOU ARE!”
“She looked at me!”
“He’s breathing too loud!”
Friends…
How do they even come up with this stuff?
Jesus Has The Biggest Sense Of Humor
I honestly think He does.
Because He knows exactly what I need.
Not always what I want.
Sometimes I want peace and quiet.
He gives me Legos in the hallway.
Sometimes I want uninterrupted Bible time.
He gives me a child who suddenly has seventeen important questions.
Sometimes I want a clean house.
He reminds me people matter more than perfectly folded blankets.
I don’t think He’s trying to make my life harder.
I think He’s teaching me to find Him in ordinary moments.
Even the loud ones.
Especially the loud ones.
The Good News
Jesus never asked us to be perfect moms.
Perfect Christians.
Perfect anything.
He asked us to follow Him.
Some days following Jesus looks really spiritual.
Other days…
It looks like apologizing after you lose your patience.
Laughing at yourself.
Praying while folding laundry.
Giving yourself grace because God already has.
Holy Hot Mess Moment
Can we all agree…
Motherhood is basically surviving tiny people who believe:
Your bathroom is public property.
Your food tastes better than theirs.
You know where literally everything is.
And somehow…
You can fix every problem.
Except the Wi-Fi.
Apparently that’s Dad’s department.
What God Keeps Teaching Me
Patience isn’t something we magically wake up with.
It’s something God grows in us.
Usually one spilled cup…
One sibling argument…
One missing shoe…
One cold cup of coffee…
At a time.
And honestly?
I’m thankful.
Because every crazy moment reminds me…
I can’t do this alone.
I never was supposed to.
Dear Tired Mama…
If today felt hard…
Jesus isn’t disappointed in you.
If you lost your patience…
His mercy is still new.
If your house looks like a tornado won…
His love hasn’t changed.
If dinner came from the drive-thru…
You’ll all survive.
God isn’t grading your motherhood.
He’s walking through it with you.
And somehow…
That makes all the difference.
Prayer
Jesus,
Thank You for loving this beautifully imperfect mama.
Help me laugh more.
Complain less.
Love bigger.
Forgive quicker.
And remember that Your grace is always greater than my hot mess.
Amen.
