We’ve All Had Those Moments…
Sometimes I wonder if God lets embarrassing moments happen just to remind me…
“Cassie… you’re still not in charge.” 😂
If there’s one thing I’ve learned through Christian humor, it’s that God can use even our most awkward moments to make us laugh, keep us humble, and remind us how much we need Him.
One minute you’re feeling like you’ve got everything together…
The next minute you’re waving at someone who wasn’t waving at you.
The good news?
God isn’t sitting in heaven shaking His head.
He’s loving us through every awkward, clumsy, wonderfully human moment.

25 Times God Kept Me Humble
1. I Waved at Someone…
…who wasn’t waving at me.🫣
Turns out they were waving at the person behind me.
I committed.
They looked confused.
I kept waving anyway.🤭
God’s Grace Reminder: Jesus still loves enthusiastic people.
2. I Walked Into a Glass Door
I made eye contact with the door.
The door won.
God’s Grace Reminder: God opens doors… just not that one.
3. I Forgot Why I Walked Into the Room
I stood there.
Looking around.
Hoping the room would remind me.
It didn’t.
4. I Said “Love You!”
…to the cashier.
They froze.
I froze.
We all pretended it never happened.
5. I Put My Shirt On Inside Out
Didn’t notice until halfway through the day.
Honestly…
It explained a lot.
6. I Looked Everywhere for My Phone
I even asked someone to call it.
They looked at me…
Then pointed to my hand. 📱😂
7. I Lost My Glasses
They were on my head.
Classic.
God’s Grace Reminder: Thankfully, Jesus sees everything… even when I can’t find what’s right in front of me.
This experience became one of the many unexpected ways God kept me humble and reminded me that His grace is always bigger than my most awkward moments.
8. I Started Cleaning One Room…
…and somehow ended up organizing a junk drawer.
The original room?
Still messy.
God’s Grace Reminder: Even when I lose focus, Jesus never loses sight of me.
9. I Reheated My Coffee…
Three times.
Never drank it.
10. I Opened the Refrigerator…
And forgot why.
Apparently I just wanted to admire the leftovers.
11. I Tripped Over Absolutely Nothing
No curb, no toy, no dog.
Just… gravity. LOL.
12. I Started a Sentence…
Forgot where I was going.
Took a scenic detour.
Ended somewhere completely different.
Everyone nodded like it made perfect sense.
13. I Smiled at Someone…
Who wasn’t smiling at me.

Apparently I don’t learn.🥸
14. I Checked the Pantry…
For the fifth time.
Because maybe…
The Lord works in mysterious snacks. 😂
15. I Locked the Car…
Then immediately checked to make sure it was locked.
Three times.
16. I Walked Into Church…
Someone said, “Good morning!”
I replied…
“You too.”
17. I Thought I Was Whispering…
Everyone else thought I was making an announcement.
18. I Hit “Reply All”
Instant regret.
19. I Started Praying…
I thanked God for seventeen random things…
Then forgot what I was asking Him for in the first place. 🤦♀️
God’s Grace Reminder: I’m so thankful God understands my heart… even when my brain takes a detour.
20. I Read the Same Bible Verse…
Three times.
My brain was on vacation.
My heart finally caught up.
21. I Called Someone…
By the completely wrong name.
They were gracious.
I wanted to disappear.
22. I Laughed…
At the worst possible moment.
Not because anything was funny.
Because my brain picked terrible timing.
23. One Time I Walked Into Church…
Confidently hugged a complete stranger from behind.
It was…
Not my friend.🤦♀️😂
God’s Grace Reminder: Thankfully, Jesus still claims me.
24. That Moment You Say, “Amen”…
Because everyone else did?
Meanwhile, you’re over there deciding…
Fries or onion rings? 😬🍔🍟😂
25. I Thought I Had It All Together…
Then life reminded me…
I still need Jesus every single day.
And honestly?
That’s the best place to be.
Here’s What God Has Been Teaching Me
The older I get, the more I realize something beautiful.
God has never asked me to be flawless.
He asks me to trust Him.
He isn’t looking for polished people.
He’s looking for willing hearts.
The awkward moments…
The mistakes…
The forgetfulness…
The “I can’t believe I just did that” memories…
None of them surprise Him.
He already knew every embarrassing chapter of our story…
…and He loved us enough to write His grace into every single page.
Sometimes the moments that humble us become the moments that remind us we were never meant to rely on ourselves anyway.
What a gift that is.
